Coal Industry Group spends $10 million on Lobbying
Oct 22nd, 2009 by admin
Politico reports that ACCCE (the astrotur group formerly known as ABEC)
“spent nearly $10 million over the past 18 months on lobbying efforts supervised by a public affairs firm currently under congressional investigation for its involvement in sending forged letters opposing the climate bill.”
That’s how much is being spent on industry scare tactics, forgeries and other attempts to distort truth and increase company profits at the expense of communities.
The Alliance for Appalachia’s budget isn’t quite that high. You can help support our work to expose the big lies from the coal industry and renew Appalachian communities by picking up the lovely, amazing and truthful new Coal Country CD, proceeds of which go to The Alliance for Appalachia and our partner, Heartwood.
