Kentucky

Appalshop a non-profit multi-disciplinary arts and education center in the heart of Appalachia producing original films, video, theater, music and spoken-word recordings, radio, photography, multimedia, and books.

Kentuckians for the Commonwealth (KFTC) is a community of people taking action for justice, working with people to organize in their home communities and across the state.

Tennessee

Statewide Organizing for Community eMpowerment (SOCM) a member-run organization that encourages civic involvement and collective action so that the people of Tennessee have a greater voice in determining their future.

Virginia

Southern Appalachian Mountain Stewards (SAMS) an organization of concerned community members and their allies who are working to stop the destruction of our communities by surface coal mining, to improve the quality of life in our area, and to help rebuild sustainable communities.

West Virginia

Coal River Mountain Watch (CRMW) works to stop the destruction of our communities and environment by mountaintop removal mining, to improve the quality of life in our area and to help rebuild sustainable communities.

Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition (OVEC) organizes and maintains a diverse grassroots organization dedicated to the improvement and preservation of the environment through education, grassroots organizing and coalition building, leadership development and media outreach.

West Virgnia Highlands Conservancy promotes, encourages, and works for the conservation and appreciation of the natural resources of West Virginia and the Nation, and especially of the Highlands Region of West Virginia, for the cultural, social, educational, physical, health, spiritual, and economic benefit of present and future generations of West Virginians and Americans.

National and Regional

Appalachian Citizens Law Center a nonprofit law firm that fights for justice in the coalfields by representing coal miners and their families on issues of Black Lung and mine safety and by working with grassroots groups and individuals to protect the land and people from misuse and degradation caused by extractive industries.

Appalachian Voices an award-winning, environmental non-profit committed to protecting the land, air and water of the central and southern Appalachian region, focusing on reducing coal’s impact on the region and advancing our vision for a cleaner energy future.

Heartwood a regional network that protects forests and supports community activism in the eastern United States through education, advocacy, and citizen empowerment.

Sierra Club Environmental Justice supports the work of coalfield activists in their struggles against the irresponsible practices of the mining industry.

Southwings a conservation and public benefit aviation non-profit that provides skilled pilots and aerial education to enhance conservation efforts across the Southeast.
